Virginia Senator Tim Kaine: A Lifetime of Service

Dedicated to Helping Virginians

Tim Kaine, Virginia's junior United States senator, has spent his life working to make a difference in his community and beyond. From his days as a civil rights lawyer in Richmond to his current role in the Senate, Kaine has always put the needs of Virginians first.

A Mission to Serve

Born in 1958, Kaine has always been driven by a desire to help others. After graduating from law school, he returned to his hometown of Richmond to practice civil rights law. He represented individuals and groups who had been discriminated against, and he fought for justice and equality.

Kaine's commitment to service extended beyond his law practice. He volunteered his time to help the homeless, the elderly, and other marginalized communities. He also served on the Richmond City Council for six years, where he worked to improve the lives of all residents.

Rising to the Senate

In 2005, Kaine was elected Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. He served in that role until 2010, when he was elected to the United States Senate. In the Senate, Kaine has continued to champion the causes he believes in, including civil rights, education, and economic opportunity.

Kaine is a respected figure in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. He is known for his intelligence, his empathy, and his ability to work across party lines to get things done. He is a true advocate for the people of Virginia, and he will continue to fight for their needs.
