Former England International to Hang Up His Boots at the End of the Season
Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has announced that he will retire from football at the end of the 2023/24 season. The 36-year-old has enjoyed a successful career, which has seen him win the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup with Manchester City, as well as the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup with Celtic.
Hart made his professional debut for Shrewsbury Town in 2006 and has since gone on to play for Birmingham City, Manchester City, Torino, West Ham United, Burnley, and Celtic. He has also been capped 75 times by England, representing his country at two World Cups and two European Championships.
In a statement released on Celtic's official website, Hart said: "It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from professional football at the end of the 2023/24 season. This decision has not been taken lightly, but it is one that I believe is right for me and my family.
